Sony NEX-FS700

New Sony NEX-FS700 camcorder which brings the ability to record footage at up to 960 frames per second, and a range of capabilities such as 3G HD-SDI output and built-in ND filters. Allowing you to generate brilliant slow motion shots, normally only obtainable on more expensive camcorders.
The Sony NEX-FS700 camcorder provides full HD quality at 120 and 240 frames per second in a 16 or 8 second burst mode respectively. Its 480 fps and 960 fps at reduced resolution are obtainable for faster frame rate recording.
In addition to the slow motion features the camera is also equipped with a 11.6 million pixels sensor, and Sony is planning a future firmware upgrade for the NEX-FS700. That will enable the camcorder to output 4K bitstream knowledge over 3G HD-SDI when used with an optional Sony 4K recorder.
The NEX-FS700U in North America or the NEX-FS700E in Europe, will cost less than $10,000 and will arrive in stores during June 2012.

Canon EOS 60Da Announced


The Canon EOS 60Da replaces Canon's earlier astronomy DSLR the 20da, and it features an 18 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and can be mounted to telescopes with an adapter.
Canon has announced a brand spanking new version of their 60D DSLR, the Canon EOS 60Da which is specifically designed for astronomers, and it features a modifies infrared filter and a low noise sensor.
On the back of the Canon EOS 60Da is a three inch one,040,00 dot LCD display, and it comes with a Live View view mode and a bundles AVC-DC400ST stereo AV video cable so you can hook it up to an outside display.
The Canon EOS 60Da will go on sale in the US for $1,499.

Canon is developing digital cinematography cameras as part of its acclaimed new Cinema EOS Technique of professional cinematography products. The Cinema EOS C500 for use with EF-mount lenses, and the Cinema EOS C500 PL for use with PL-mount lenses, the cameras will be able to originating 4K (4096 x 2160-pixel) resolution digital motion imagery with uncompressed RAW output for outside recording. The Cinema EOS C500/C500 PL digital cinematography cameras won't only support 4K-resolution video but also outputs this as a 10-bit uncompressed RAW information stream with no de-Bayering.
The Canon Cinema EOS C500/C500 PL digital cinematography cameras offer the additional versatility of having the ability to output quad full-HD (3840 x 2160), 2K (2048 x 1080), full HD (1920 x 1080), and other imaging options. All of these digital picture source formats fully conform to established SMPTE production standards. All 4K formats can be selected to operate from to 60 frames per second. The cameras employ a 12-bit RGB four:4:4 signal format in the coursework of 2K output, which can be selected to operate from to 60 frames-per-second (fps) as well. If switched to a 10-bit YCrCb four:2:2 mode, the camera can operate up to 120 fps.

The Cinema EOS C500 simultaneously records in-camera a 50 Mbps HD proxy video to a CF card that is immediately available to support offline editing. Equipped with a newly developed Tremendous 35mm-equivalent about 8.85-megapixel CMOS sensor, the Canon Cinema EOS C500/C500 PL digital cinematography cameras will be compatible with Canon's huge selection of interchangeable EF Cinema and PL-mount lenses and EF lenses for Canon SLR cameras. Highly mobile and compact for filmmaking versatility, the Cinema EOS C500/C500 PL digital cinematography cameras  like Canon's Cinema EOS C300/C300 PL cinematography cameras provide all of the same ergonomic features, except for the rotating hand grip.
